BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — NorthWest Arkansas Community College (NWACC) will kick off its 2026 Spring Arts and Culture Festival with a week worth of events.
NWACC will present lectures, exhibits, concerts and interactive events with this year being centered around the theme of “Connection.”
According to a news release, Arkansan author T.L. Simpson will deliver the keynote address, “Connected by Story: How Fiction Old and New Shapes Who We Are,” at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Mar. 5 in White Auditorium of Burns Hall.

Simpson will discuss his young adult novels and his commitment to writing novels for teen boys to read. His novels are set in a fictional Ozarks that offer a look at boys’ coming of age in present time Arkansas, according to the release.
The events are as follows:
Monday will include an improv workshop, interactive presentations, trivia, book club and a star gazing party.
Tuesday brings an interactive craft workshop, an ecology talk, a lecture on the cultural role of black music, an artist spotlight, faculty art exhibition opening, chamber singers performance and a concert featuring a variety of instrumental musicians.
Wednesday begins with a reading, followed by an interactive lecture, open mic poetry event, history presentation, theatrical performance and ends with chess club.
Thursday will conclude the festival with a history lecture, keynote lecture, bike and trail makers studio and film screening.
Events will take place Monday, Mar. 2 through Thursday, Mar. 5. All sessions are free and open to the public.
