Back in October of 2025, XGIMI released its Titan 4K projector to rave reviews. This projector offered the perfect trifecta of brightness, contrast ratio, and sharpness at a price that was competitive with the competition.

Now in April of 2026, XGIMI has opened up preorders on Kickstarter for the spiritual successor to the Titan – the Titan Noir. The Noir comes in three editions: standard, Pro, and Max. The MSRP for the highest end Max is set at $5,999, but you get a 50% discount if you preorder it on Kickstarter, down to $2,999. At that price, it’s $1,000 less than the OG Titan.

Unlike most Kickstarter projects, you don’t need to worry about this one never coming to fruition, especially since it has already met its goal. XGIMI is also one of the biggest (if not the biggest) home theater projector brands globally. Neither will you have to wait forever to receive your product, since XGIMI anticipates a ship date in early June.

The New XGIMI Titan Noir Is Now up for Preorder on Kickstarter

    TL;DR Kickstarter reward tiers:

    • (Featured) TITAN Noir Max – $2,999 ($5,999 MSRP)
    • XGIMI Ascend: 100″ Screen + 170W Soundbar – $1,299 ($1,999 MSRP)
    • TITAN Noir Max + XGIMI Ascend Bundle – $3,999 ($7.999 MSRP)
    • TITAN Noir PRO – $2,699 ($4,999 MSRP)
    • TITAN Noir – $2,499 ($3,999 MSRP)

A comparison of the three models.

The XGIMI Titan Noir is a 4K projector that uses a 0.47″ SSD DMD (DLP) chip and an RGB triple laser light source. A DLP projector offers better contrast ratio and color gamut than LCD projector. The caveat is that it’s not as bright, but XGIMI compensates for this by pairing it with the laser light source, which is brighter than traditional bulb lamps and never needs replacement. The 4K resolution is achieved using pixel-shift technology to upscale content to 4K. Pixel-shift technology is so good nowadays that it is indistinguishable from native 4K when viewed at a normal sitting distance.

4K HDR image quality is excellent for a number of reasons. This is an incredibly bright projector that can throw up to 7,000 ISO lumens (on the Titan Noir Max). The high 10,000:1 native contrast ratio on the Noir Max is also made possible thanks to the new dual intelligent iris system that employs two discrete irises to control light output. XGIMI employs numerous AI features also seen in the previous generation Titan that do an excellent job of further cleaning up the image.

The Titan Noir is also easily adjustable when you’re first setting it up. It has both motorized horizontal and vertical lens shift and up to 2X optical zoom to allow for flexible placement. The optimal distance is between 8ft and 17ft, but image quality will be best if you can place it at the farther end of its optical zoom.

Note that the Titan Noir prioritizes 4K HDR content streaming over gaming. The specs mention that it supports up to 240Hz refresh rate, but that’s at 1080p resolution. In 4K, the refresh rate is limited to 60Hz. That’s still perfectly acceptable for console-based gaming; most PlayStation 5 games won’t run at over 60fps even in Performance mode and the Nintendo Switch 2 is limited to 4K @ 60Hz anyways. If you were intending to use this as a huge “monitor” for PC gaming, then you should probably look for more gaming-centric projectors, although those come with their own compromises.
