With it being a few years since Mamoru Hosoda brought out the very popular film Belle, their next project is set for a winter 2025 debut with Scarlet, as announced in December 2024. The film from Hosoda and Studio Chizu was recently updated with more information by setting a November 21st, 2025, release in Japan, while the US theatrical release is set for a February 6th, 2026, release date.
With the film having come and gone on several fronts, Japanese distributor VAP has now set a May 27th, 2026, release for the film on DVD and Blu-ray. The DVD is priced at 3,800 yen, while the standard edition Blu-ray is at 4,800 yen. The special edition Blu-ray is priced at 7,800 yen. All sets list on Japanese language options on it.

Plot Concept: Scarlet, a medieval-era, sword-fighting princess on a dangerous quest to avenge the death of her father is the protagonist of this powerful, time bending animated adventure.
