    Samsung and Sony collaborate for Spidey Tracker interactive fan campaign

    Happy 616 Day, True Believers! As Marvel aficionados are well aware, the main continuity of Marvel’s comic book universe is designated Earth-616, and as such today June 16 is a celebration of all things related to the House of Ideas. Case in point, Samsung has announced details for a unique collaboration for the Spider-Man: Brand New Day feature  through the all-new Spidey Tracker, a one-of-a-kind fan-driven experience unfolding online and in real-world spaces throughout the summer. 

    Developed in the film by Ned Leeds, (the character played by Jacob Batalon) on a Samsung phone to track Spider-Man’s whereabouts, the tracker is now being brought to life as a custom website for fans. Designed to expand the narrative beyond the film, the experience bridges the world of Spider-Man: Brand New Day with real world campaign moments that include cast appearances and interviews, spotlighting live activations, content drops, hidden easter eggs, and fan submitted sightings.

    In conjunction with the launch, Sony released a fun video with the character of Ned Leeds

     

    Through integrated storytelling, moviegoers will see the portability of Galaxy Z Flip on full display in the hands of Spider-Man and the multitasking benefits of Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Watch as Ned Leeds tries to locate the elusive Spider-Man.

    “Incorporating Galaxy technology into such a beloved Spider-Man storytelling world gives us a chance to showcase how even your friendly neighborhood hero relies only on Samsung Galaxy,” said Keena Grigsby, Chief Marketing Officer and Vice President Mobile eXperience at Samsung Electronics America. “This is the perfect opportunity to double down on our belief that Galaxy devices are designed to help everyone stay connected — whether you’re taking photos with friends, keeping up with loved ones, or saving New York.”

    Reflecting the reality that even our closest relationships can evolve as life takes us in new directions, Samsung is highlighting how its technology helps people stay close to those who matter most. It celebrates the importance of human connection and self-expression, bringing together Samsung’s ethos with the inspiring characters and timeless stories that make Spider-Man one of the world’s most iconic heroes.

Teaming up with Samsung helped bring that spirit to life both on screen and beyond, integrating the technology people use every day into Spider-Man’s world while also bringing innovative and fun new ways for fans to engage through the Spidey Tracker,” said Jeffrey Godsick, Executive Vice President, Global Partnerships, Sony Pictures Entertainment.

    Unfolding online and in real-world spaces throughout the summer, see Spidey pop up on the map, at live events and venues, popular creator videos, and maybe even a Samsung Experience Store — keep your eyes peeled!
