The spring 2019 anime adaptation of the Ace of Diamond Act II manga and the anime before it were both very well received, and fans have been waiting in hope for more. There’ve been a few teases for it recently, but it was back in May 2024 that it was confirmed that the sequel season had received the green light.
We learned this past May 2025 that a second season was coming, and it was recently confirmed for an April 5th, 2026, premiere date, right in time for baseball season. Pony Canyon is handling the home video releases for it with it getting three DVD and Blu-ray releases. The DVDs are priced at 13,200 yen each, and the Blu-rays at 14,300 yen each. Check out the schedule and known details below.
The staff is set with Hideaki Oba directing it while bringing back Kenji Konuta on the scripts. Yasukazu Shoji is on board for the character designs with OLM now handling the animation production.
The main cast from the previous work includes Ryota Ohsaka as Eijun Sawamura, Nobunaga Shimazaki as Satoru Furuya, Takahiro Sakurai as Kazuya Miyuki, Yūma Uchida as Kōshū Okumura, Shintarō Asanuma as Yōichi Kuramochi, Natsuki Hanae as Haruichi Kominato, Shunsuke Takeuchi as Yūki Masashi, and Daiki Yamashita as Takuma Seto.
Second season cast expansion characters include Shūgo Nakamura as Kōya Urabe, Atsushi Tamaru as Sōichi Yagira, Kento Hama as Kōji Nara, and Toshiya Miyata as Koji Chimaru.
The season features the opening theme song “Let’s Go Crazy” as performed by Baby Canta, and the ending theme song is “Number” by SUPER DRAGON.
The manga comes from writer/artist Yuji Terajima, who began the work back in 2006 in Weekly Shonen Magazine. The anime adaptation is produced by Madhouse and Production I.G.

Series concept: I want to pitch to that mitt again… A meeting with catcher Kazuya Miyuki changed the 15-year-old Eijun Sawamura’s life. He said goodbye to all his friends and knocked upon the door of Seidou, a prestigious baseball school, intent on testing his own strength. There, he met many proud baseball players who were betting everything on the sport! A classic tale, yet new and fresh. All the emotion and excitement of the popular baseball manga is, at last, coming to television in the form of an anime!
