The Coliseum Museum opened its third annual Focus on Photography Art Exhibit April 10 with an awards reception, according to a community announcement.
The exhibit, which will run through May 16, features 59 works by 29 artists, showcasing a variety of photographic mediums, including digital, film, mixed and unique processes.

Grand Detour artist wins top honor
Glenn Bodish of Grand Detour received the Best of Show award for his piece, “Pakistani Elder Making Lassi.” Other winners include Bob Cholke of Rockford, who won first place for “Paint by Numbers”; Stephonie A. Schmitz of Dubuque, Iowa, who took second place for “Split Rock Lighthouse at Dusk”; and Steve Toole of Ashton, who placed third with “Food Truck Door Dash”.
Honorable mentions were awarded to Joseph Virbikis of Washington for “Lake view at the Milwaukee Art Museum” and Wolf Koch of Sterling for “Organ Mountain Sunset, Las Cruces, NM.”
The exhibit was judged by Danielle Koenig. The public is invited to view the exhibit and vote for their favorite artwork. The People’s Choice winner will be announced at the end of the exhibit.
Exhibit features diverse artists
Participating artists include Les Allen, David Bingaman, Bodish, Cholke, Rick Davis, Jane Erlandson, Tyler Farino, Jeanne Garrett, Timothy Griffith, Pam Hansen, Stephen Hart, Kat Heitzman, Maggie Isaacs, Bob Kapheim, Linnea Koch, Wolf Koch, Bob Logsdon, Jeff Oesterheld, Jennifer Osborne, Joe Popp, Wayne Proeger, Kate Reed, Schmitz, U. A. Short, Toole, Virbickis, Holden White and Jon Wildman.
The museum’s mission is to present art, antiques, Americana and history through permanent and rotating exhibits, workshops, music, theater and more.
