Known originally as Onee-chan no Midori-kun (お姉ちゃんの翠くん), the property is getting some new attention as a live-action film has been announced. The manga translates as Midori Loves My Sister and began in 2022 as serialized in the magazine by Amu Meguro. It has eleven volumes so far, with the most recent volume arriving in Japan on April 23rd, 2026.
The film is set for a December 4th, 2026, and has an English title of My Sister’s Boyfriend. It has Mahito Kimura directing it from the screenplay by Nami Kikkawa.
The Japanese cast includes:
- Masaki Hashimoto as Midori Yukishiro
- Runa Nakahjima as Sui Sanae
Meguro made their debut in 2011 with Tig-Hug Planet and has seven properties to their name overall, including Honey which was released in English by Viz Media.
Plot Concept: This is the beginning of a heart-fluttering and heartbreaking first love.
Sui doesn’t like her sister’s boyfriend, a university student named Midori. He always treats her like a kid, teases her, even though she’s seven years younger than him, and it pisses her off! But when Midori becomes her tutor, she starts to see an unexpected side to him…
