An interesting new project is in the works for 2026 with Hono no Tokyujo: Dodge Danko as we get dodgeball anime – again. The property is based on the sequel manga that launched in 2022 which follows up the 1989 manga series by Tetsuhiro Koshita. The original series ran until 1995 with eighteen volumes and saw a 1991 anime TV series that ran for 47 episodes. The sequel manga currently has six volumes out as of August 2025.
With the series announced in July 2025, the production recently set a July 2026 debut. Now, it’s updated to reveal one more cast member with Yuki Wakai as Peiko Nikaido, whose design you can see below. Additionally, it also revealed that the ending theme song is “Welcome to Azatosa World” as performed by i☆Ris.
