Marvel Comics has revealed Alien vs. X-Men, a four-issue series pitting the mutants against the Xenomorphs by writer Kieron Gillen (Immortal X-Men) and artist Geraldo Borges (Dick Tracy). The main story arc will see the X-Men inadvertently bring the Aliens to Earth after venturing into space to search for a Phoenix egg. The book will also feature a serialized back-up written by longtime X-Men scribe Chris Claremont (which doesn’t have an artist attached yet), that’ll follow Kitty Pryde while she’s being hunted by the Xenomorphs and their Marvel counterparts, the Brood.

Gillen comments, “Alien was the first R-rated movie I ever saw. Aliens is one of the four founding teenage films that I built my understanding of story structure upon. As a hormonal teen, I had a looming Alien poster hung over my bed. I love Aliens so much that I am unhelpfully explaining beats to Geraldo by referencing two-second sequences featuring tertiary characters, as if he cares about Ferro and Dietrich as much as I do. So, yes, this is some prime-grade bucket list stuff for me, and I’m highly enjoying taking the X-Men on an X-press elevator to hell.”
Claremont adds, “The coolest aspect here is returning to a universe where I can pit my deadliest alien predators against their movie counterparts, with Kitty caught in the middle. Kitty brings a hero’s perspective to the challenge that embraces the heart and soul of the X-Men. This story is cram-packed with adventure – plus some crazy surprises along the way.” The writer originally introduced the Brood with the late Dave Cockrum in 1981’s Uncanny X-Men #155.
Issue #1 will be released on September 16, with a main cover by Ryan Stegman, and a variant by Ivan Shavrin. It’ll mark the third Marvel Aliens crossover, after 2024’s Aliens vs. Avengers, and last year’s Alien vs. Captain America, as well as Gillen’s first Marvel series (not counting specials etc.) since 2024’s X-Men: Forever. In the meantime, Marvel’s next 20th Century Studios crossover, Predator vs. the Planet of the Apes, will begin on July 29.
Wolverine: Paradise #1 cover by Dan Panosian
In more X-Men news, current Wolverine cover artist Dan Panosian will write and draw his own five-issue series, Wolverine: Paradise, where Logan attempts some R&R in Miami, only for it to become complicated. “After crossing paths with Dazzler, Logan goes to war with a ruthless criminal underworld, including a mysterious new supervillain pulling the strings. The heat is rising fast — and things are only going to get hotter from here as Logan discovers ‘paradise’ is anything but.”
Panosian says, “Wolverine is one of the most iconic characters in comics, but what has always drawn me to Logan is the humanity beneath the legend. With Wolverine: Paradise, I wanted to tell a story that embraces the action and danger readers expect while exploring a man searching for a glimpse of hope in a place that promises paradise. Getting the opportunity to both write and draw Logan’s journey has been a true career highlight like no other.”
Issue #1 will be released on October 14, roughly a month after the character’s PlayStation 5 game drops on September 15. The character will also star with Jubilee in the X-Men: The Hellfire Murder special on July 22, and the miniseries Tomb of Apocalypse, starting August 26. Additionally, the character continues to star in his own solo comic, and will rejoin the Avengers in November’s relaunch of the series, shortly before the X-Men’s return to the big screen in Avengers: Doomsday on December 18.
