During Disney’s presentation at this year’s CinemaCon, Lucasfilm dropped the third and final trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu, releasing in theaters May 22:
The trailer emphasizes the more dramatic side of the pair’s new adventure, complete with the use of John Williams‘s Yoda theme and the Imperial March from the original Star Wars trilogy, before The Mandalorian theme by Ludwig Göransson itself reemerges. Appropriately, Lucasfilm has revealed the film’s soundtrack will be available digitally a week before its release on May 15. Tickets for the movie are on sale now.
Speaking of Pedro Pascal movies, CinemaCon attendees got to watch a new trailer for Avengers: Doomsday. Variety shares the footage revealed Thor (Chris Hemsworth) battling Doctor Doom (Robert Downey Jr.); Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) suiting up again as Captain America and reuniting with the Odinson and Mjolnir; Pascal’s Fantastic Four meeting the Thunderbolts New Avengers; the Wakandans and Talokanil facing off again; Simu Liu‘s Shang-Chi clashing with Gambit (Channing Tatum); and Florence Pugh fighting herself after Mystique (Rebecca Romijn) takes on Yelena Belova’s appearance.
Directors Joe and Anthony Russo also revealed the upcoming rerelease of Avengers: Endgame will include additional footage, and that both the movie and Doomsday will be presented in Infinity Vision, a new certification for theaters capable of offering “the biggest, brightest and most immersive cinematic experiences.” Endgame will be rereleased on September 25, while Doomsday will arrive on December 18. (Vision, who this format’s name is presumably a nod to, will be seen on Disney+’s VisionQuest later this year as well.)
Other films showcased at the event included The Devil Wears Prada 2 (out May 1); Toy Story 5 (June 19); the live-action Moana remake (July 10); Ridley Scott‘s The Dog Stars (August 28); and Ice Age: Boiling Point (February 5, 2027). It was also announced Hailee Steinfeld and Rashida Jones will star in the next Disney Animation film, Hexed. The movie, due out November 25, follows a teenager (Steinfeld) and her mom (Jones), who discover she has magical powers.
