On Saturday, the Even the Student Council Has Its Holes! anime adaptation, which was announced in April 2025, released a character trailer and poster for Ume Mizunoe, whose voice actor was announced alongside the series debut date in October.
Even the Student Council Has Its Holes! is based on the manga by Muchimaro, who launched the series in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine in 2022. The series is published digitally on Kodansha’s K Manga platform, with Seven Seas releasing English print editions beginning in September under its mature readers Ghost Ship imprint.
Here’s the synopsis via Seven Seas:
In a student council filled with weirdos, one new member is about to have a hell of a school year!
Mizunoe Ume just wanted to avoid repeating a grade when he joined the student council. After all, it seemed like an easy fix to his current academic problems. But then, he met his fellow council. Each of them is eccentric in their own way—one’s an airhead, another’s scary, one’s secretly a pervert, but all in all, they’re just really weird! Yet somehow, they’re also oddly cute and endearing. Which means Mizunoe is stuck with them and all the chaos they bring to the table.
Get ready for a slice-of-life manga that’s irresistibly charming, quirky and a little bit naughty!
Shōgo Sakata will voice Ume in the upcoming anime. Check out Ume’s character trailer and poster below.
Even the Student Council Has Its Holes! will be directed by Naoyuki Tatsuwa, with characters designed by Ryo Imamura and scripts by Masahiro Yokotani. The anime debuts in October.
