Dark Horse Comics has revealed a second Three Worlds/Three Moons one-shot coming in September, Shift. Created by writer Jonathan Hickman, artist Mike del Mundo, and letterer Rus Wooton, the 64-page comic is a prequel, that follows the magic user Syg the White Stag on a journey to the center of the universe.

The official synopsis elaborates, “Set generations before the current science cycle, in a time when magic is at its peak and Kaoso is thriving, Syg the White Stag eschews the wishes of his family and the will of the Academy by hitching a ride on a Vojoganto to the center of the universe — Akva — to understand the cause behind what he believes to be the inevitable collapse of the universe as he knows it. Accompanied by his lifelong friend, an accused heretic named Markus, the two set out to unlock the secrets of life and stop the worlds’ collapse. Will Syg and Markus be able to complete their mission, or will their time be cut short by the next cosmic shift?”
The book, which was originally serialized with other 3W/3M projects on Substack, will be released in a magazine-sized format on September 2, for $9.99. In the meantime, an introductory one-shot for Hickman, Del Mundo, Mike Huddleston, and Nick Spencer‘s sci-fi/fantasy saga, Foundations, will be released on July 8, for $7.99.
In the meantime, Hickman will continue to stay busy at Marvel, with the miniseries Spider-Man: Long Way Home set to launch on June 17, and the first Midnight Universe series, Midnight X-Men, debuting on August 5.
