A new original net animation project was announced previously from Bandai Namco Filmworks for the Gundam franchise with Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance. The six-episode series saw worldwide streaming through Netflix as it focuses on an event during the One Year War on the European front.
With Netflix debuting it with an October 17th, 2024, premiere date, the show is now finally getting a home video release in Japan. A complete Blu-ray box set is scheduled for an August 26th, 2026, release date. It’ll be priced at 20,000 yen, and will include the English dub and English subtitles.
The six-episode series clocks in at 138 minutes and it’ll come with a 24-page booklet and a two-disc original soundtrack from the film edition. There is also a bonus disc that includes two pilot films, makin-of footage, 3D modeling material, and the promos for it.
The project is an interesting one as it’s being done utilizing Unreal Engine 5 and the material shown highlights actor Celia Massingham doing the lead voice and the motion capture for it as well. Check out the message video from the director, Erasmus Brosdau, that goes into more of the project. Gavin Hignight worked on the script for it while Manuel Augusto Dischinger Moura served as the main character designer.
The English cast includes:
- Celia Massingham as Iria Sorari
