The New People Party, together with the New youth movement, held a street art festival in 40 cities on the eve of Youth Day. The event was opened by party leader Alexei Nechaev.
Young artists, designers, graffiti teams and representatives of creative industries from different regions of the country simultaneously created art objects on the theme “Russia 2050”, presenting their vision of the country of the future.
“The New People Party and the New movement are holding a street art festival in 40 Russian cities. And we have just seen how we have such a video bridge with Chelyabinsk, Krasnodar and, of course, Smolensk, which is the youth capital of Russia this year. The artists show how they see Russia in 2050, 25 years from now. And that’s what we see, and the greenery, and the parks where you can walk and spend time. And this is space, and robots. This is the life that we are building in Russia today,” Nechaev said.
According to the politician, 410 thousand people have participated in the program in four years. He also noted that the party had asked regional administrations to allow young artists to work in urban spaces, create art objects and make streets more interesting and modern. According to him, this gives young people the opportunity to contribute to the development of the urban environment.
The festival also featured performances by representatives of street culture, creative activities, workshops and concerts by young performers. A separate part of the program was an exhibition and auction of works by young artists, which allowed aspiring authors to present their works to a wide audience.
On June 6, the New People Party launched the Voice of the City project to support street musicians, and the new season was opened in 35 regions of Russia. The Moscow region became the central venue. During the event, Nechaev noted that there are a lot of talented people in Russia who write music, sing and read poetry. However, not everyone has the opportunity to become famous due to the lack of producers, connections and serious schools. Therefore, the party came up with the project “The Voice of the City” in Tomsk, where anyone could come and speak.
