Way back in 2021, Seven Seas Entertainment announced the license acquisition of the manga Go for It Again, Nakamura! by Syundei. Known originally as Motto Ganbare! Nakamura-kun!!, it was serialized in Opera magazine and was compiled as a single-volume release back in 2017. Crunchyroll previously announced its pickup of it with it streaming to viewers in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS.
The series was originally slated for a summer 2025 debut but was pushed back to an April 1st, 2026, premiere date. Aniplex Japan is handling the home video releases and they’ve set a four-volume run as limited editions on both DVD and Blu-ray. The DVDs are priced at 8,000 yen each, while the Blu-rays are 9,000 yen each. Check ou tthe full schedule and known details below.
The show has Aoi Umeki working as director, handling the scripts, and working on the character designs for it. Yasuko Aoki is the assistant director with Drive handling the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes Chiaki Kobayashi as Okuto Nakamura, Yuki Sakakihara as Aiki Hirose, Junko Takeuchi, Kappei Yamaguchi, Takuya Eguchi as Sou Otogiri, Fairouz Ai as Hifumi Kawamura, Yukihiro Nozuyama as Kota Takeuchi, Atsushi Tamaru as Ryou Mukai, Makoto Koichi as Yuka Hamaoka, Yume Maihara as Masako Okuda, and Tsubasa Sasa as Tsukasa Omori.
The series features the opening theme song “Glory Days” by Senri Oe and the ending theme song “Sekaide Ichiban Atsui Natsu” as performed by Princess Princess.

Plot Concept: It was love at first sight when Nakamura met his classmate, Hirose. The two became friends after the shy and awkward Nakamura finally worked up the nerve to speak to him, but being buddy-buddy with your crush is a whole new kind of torture! And as he watches some other guy cuddle up with Hirose like casual bros, Nakamura tries to keep his head from exploding. Why can’t that be him?! Enjoy the hilarious new misadventures of Nakamura desperately trying to keep it together and not scare Hirose off. Hang in there, Nakamura!
