Viz Media recently brought another manga series to print as they’ve released the first volume of You and I Are Polar Opposites. The first volume saw a May 7th, 2024 release, and the timing was somewhat amusing as it wasn’t just a couple of months later that we learned that the manga was about to draw to a close in Japan as the final chapter was set for a November 25th, 2024 release on Jump+. That final volume came with an announcement of an anime adaptation of it.
With a January 11th, 2026, premiere date, the production recently confirmed that a second part is on the way, and it’ll come fast with a July 5th, 2026, premiere date. It’ll continue on Crunchyroll as expected. Now, the production has brought out a new key visual for the season that gives us a Very Brady look at the cast.

The show has Takayoshi Nagatomo directing it and working on the scripts for it. They’re also serving as an animation producer shilw Naho Kozo is serving as the chief animation director along with Sayuri Sakimoto. Mako Miyako is handling the character designs.
The previously announced cast includes:
- Sayumi Suzushiro as Suzuki
- Shogo Sakata as Tani
- Yuna Taniguchi as Watanabe
- Konatsu Hirabayashi as Sato
- Anji Iwata as Yamada
- Miyuri Shimabukuro as Azuma
- Wataru Katō as Taira
- Kokoro Ōmori as Nishi
- Tomori Kusunoki as Honda
The second cour features the new opening theme song is “Nekojarashi” performed by 7co, which is previewed within.
The property comes from writer/artist Kocha Agasawa which began serialization in 2022 in Shounen Jump+ for Shueisha. Known originally as Seihantai na Kimi to Boku, it was completed with eight volumes out in Japan as of 2024.

Plot Concept: Miyu Suzuki is a bright and bubbly high schooler who’s got a crush. There’s just one little problem—when it comes to personality, the guy she’s into is her polar opposite!
Suzuki’s a high school girl in love. The only problem is that the guy she’s fallen for is pretty much her total opposite! While she’s cheerful, outgoing, and always trying to fit in, her classmate Yusuke Tani is stoic and quiet, and he doesn’t seem to care what people think of him. Will Suzuki be able to overcome her anxieties and ask him out, or will she discover that opposites really don’t attract?
