BOOM! Studios made its Webtoon debut last week with Wynd, the YA fantasy series co-created by writer James Tynion IV and artist Michael Dialynas, with letters by Aditya Bidikar. It’s one of several fan-favorite titles the publisher has adapted for the vertical-scroll format, and its first week numbers are promising for the overall BOOM! Studios and Webtoon partnership.
Two days after Wynd debuted as a vertical-scroll comic on Webtoon, it had amassed 25k unique views and 9.5k subscribers. At time of writing, approximately one week after launch, the comic now has over 36k views and 13,187 subscribers.
“Seeing Wynd be adopted so quickly on Webtoon has been such a thrill, and incredibly gratifying for Michael and I,” Tynion tells The Beat. “We’ve been working on Wynd‘s story for close to eight years, and with over a thousand pages produced, we can’t wait for this brand new audience to experience the entire epic journey as we bring the series to a close later this year.”
Dialynas says, “This past week has been just amazing seeing all the love and engagement in the comments on Wynd‘s first episodes. It makes me super happy to know that our magical blue boy has found a new home in the Webtoon community.”
