Toei learned a long time ago how to work its properties for home video release and the Mazinger the Movie set has seen a number of them. With a Blu-ray box set over a decade ago that was then split into two sets back in 2013, 2023 will see the release of it once again but this time as 4K UHD and Blu-ray set. It saw a July 12th, 2023 debut, it’ll be priced at 20,000 yen and the two-disc set will include:

– Great Mazinger vs. Getter Robo: A Fierce Battle in the Air

With a priced-down edition landing where the Blu-ray is priced at 8,000 yen, and the 4K UHD side at 11,000 yen, we now have the cover artwork for the 4K set below.
Plot concept: From the island of Bardos in the Aegean Sea comes a new threat to humanity in the form of Doctor Hell and his army of mechanical beasts. However, a new hero stands in his way: Mazinger Z, a giant robot built out of the indestructible metal chogokin and equipped with an arsenal of advanced weaponry. Piloting Mazinger Z is hotheaded teenager Kouji Kabuto, who strives to avenge the death of his grandfather and protect Japan from Doctor Hell’s forces.
