The folks at TMS Entertainment recently lined up their next feature film for this property with Detective Conan: Fallen Angel of the Highway. The film saw an April 10th, 2026, premiere, and the initial announcement came with a key visual below from Gosho Aoyama, as is tradition. This film is bringing back the character of Chihaya Hagiwara, who was originally voiced by Atsuko Tanaka. Miyuki Sawashiro is taking on the role after Tanaka passed.

The latest update on the project is that Australian distributor Sugoi has announced its plans for a theatrical release in Australia and New Zealand on July 23rd, 2026. They’re now the “no home of Detective Conan movies” in the region, and are looking to do digital and home video release after the theatrical side has played out – something we haven’t seen in general outside of Japan for the property for some time.

Sydney fans will be the first to see the film in cinemas, at Event Cinemas George St  on Saturday, July 11 at 6:30pm. This premiere is presented in conjunction with SMASH! Sydney which also takes place July 11-12 at ICC Sydney. (You do not need a SMASH pass in order to attend this separately ticketed event).  There will be a fan photo spot available on the evening for fans.

The 2026 film is directed by Takahiro Hasui from the screenplay by Takahiro Okura. Masatomo Sudo handled the character designs with Tokyo Movie on the animation production.

    The Japanese cast includes:

    • Minami Takayama as Conan Edogawa
    • Rikiya Koyama as Kogorō Mōri
    • Wakana Yamazaki as Ran Mōri
    • Miyuki Sawashiro as Chihaya Hagiwara
    • Nobutoshi Canna as Jinpei Matsuda
    • Shinichirō Miki as Kenji Hagiwara

Plot Concept: Conan Edogawa and his friends head to Kanagawa for the Motorcycle Festival. On the way, a mysterious black motorcycle suddenly appears, speeding out of control and even leaping over their vehicle. Pursuing it is the “Goddess of the Wind,” Kanagawa Traffic Police officer Chihaya Hagiwara. Despite her relentless chase, the rider escapes, leaving her motorcycle heavily damaged.

At the venue, the group witnesses the debut of a cutting-edge police motorcycle called “Angel.” Meanwhile, the black bike resurfaces in Tokyo, once again evading police pursuit. Investigation reveals it closely resembles “Angel,” leading authorities to name it “Lucifer” and launch a full-scale search. As the case deepens, Hagiwara is drawn into memories of her late brother, Kenji Hagiwara, and his colleague, Jinpei Matsuda, setting the stage for a high-speed confrontation between the Goddess of the Wind and the Fallen Angel.
