Another light novel is on track for an anime adaptation with Scum of the Brave, which comes from the original work by writer Rocket Shokai and illustrator Yuya Kusaka. The series was announced in March 2025 without much in the way of details. The project has Shinji Ushiro directing it from the series composition by Yoichi Kato. Rika Murakami is handling the character designs, with OLM handling the animation production. Crunchyroll made its pickup of the series for a same-day release, where it’ll be available to subscribers in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, and India.
With a January 10th, 2026, debut, the production is getting ready to get its second cour going. But, as often happens during the period between “seasons,” there’s a bit of a gap. The upcoming 13th episode has been set for an April 11th, 2026, debut, and no episode will air on April 4th, 2026, as the two-cour project handles the chaotic period.
With that in mind, however, the production has dropped a new promo and key visual while also expanding on the cast below.

Plot Concept: In an alternate 21st century, rich mafia members can turn into “Demon Kings” through increasingly popular ether-enhancement surgery, and the bounty hunters called “Braves” are the ones called upon to take them down. Yashiro only wants the simple pleasures in life – pizza, beer, and card games. When three young Braves offer him a majestic sum to be their private tutor, he agrees solely for the money – but is it worth what he’s getting himself into?
