Hot on the heels of announcing Alex Ross‘s Marvel Dimensions, Abrams ComicArts have revealed their full slate of releases for Fall 2026, which includes new books by Derf Backderf, Nate Powell, and an original Doctor Strange graphic novel that’ll reunite Kevin J. Anderson, Raúl Allén, and Patricia Martín, the co-creators of the graphic novelization of Dune.

Backderf’s latest, The Dissidents, explores how the federal government targeted “autocrats,” “vigilantes, “communists,” and “cartoonists” under the Espionage Act during World War I, through the eyes of Joe Hertle, a (fictional) young German immigrant working at the (non-fictional) magazine The Masses. It marks his first book since 2020’s Kent State: Four Dead in Ohio, and will be released on September 15.

Diana, by Nate Powell, is a prequel to 2024’s Fall Through, which itself was a follow-up to 2018’s Fall Through. Set in 1992, the book follows Arkansas punk Diana Brogue after her pen pal vanishes from her life. “Untethered and fiercely protective of what she considers hers, Diana turns even more inward, blending music and homegrown sorcery in hopes of outrunning reality. But even she can’t turn back time… or can she?” It will be released on October 6. For more from Powell on the book until then, check out his personal blog.

Anderson, Allén, and Martín’s Doctor Strange: Endless Nightmare will see the Sorcerer Supreme head into the Nightmare Realm, after the whole world “is suddenly struck with insomnia.” Having encountered a patient at his hospital who wouldn’t “stop raving about how life is ‘nothing but the dream of a sleeping god,’” Strange enters his mind to uncover how he potentially caused the calamity to unfold. The book will arrive on September 8.

Anderson will also reunite with Brian Herbert and Michael Shelfer (Dune: House Harkonnen) on Dune Messiah Book 1, the first part of an adaptation of the second book in the series. It will be released on November 3, shortly before the film version, Dune: Part Three, arrives in theaters on December 18. Like the previous Dune graphic novels from Abrams, the book will receive a cover by Bill Sienkiewicz.

Further titles include Miss Greene’s Secret, the true story of a Black librarian who passed for white by Nicolas Antona and Nina Jacqmin (out September 8); Framing Emmett Till: Exposing Dark Fear, the tale of an anonymous Black writer investigating the boy’s murder by Christopher Benson and Eric Battle (October 6); Miguel de Cervantes, Paul Brizzi, and Gaëtan Brizzi‘s adaptation of the Spanish classic Don Quixote (October 13); and Serge Lehman and Frederik Peeters‘s Swiss Alps-set crime thriller Lantern Pass (October 20).

Darren Aronofsky and Martin Morazzo et al.’s Human Nature Book Two will be released on September 8, while volumes two and three of Xavier Dorison and Ralph Meyer‘s The Undertaker will respectively arrive on August 11, and January 5, 2027. The first installments of both series will arrive in the meantime on March 31.

Also set for release on October 6 are MUTTS: Sunday Funnies Vols. 1-2, respectively reprinting Patrick McDonnell‘s 1994-96 & 1997-98 strips; and The Simpsons: Cavalcade of Comics, collecting the syndicated 1999-2004 strip for the first time. Another Simpsons collecting, The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror Ominous Omnibus Boxed Set, featuring the publisher’s previous reprints of the Halloween tie-ins, will release on September 6.

For more, head to the original exclusive from AIPT, and stay tuned to Abrams’s website for the full Fall 2026 catalog.
