TULSA, Okla. — The Muscogee (Creek) Nation celebrated all things art through an art market over the weekend.
The art market was held on the banks of the Arkansas River at River Spirit Casino.
“It’s an incredible feeling. We’ve grown from 65 artists, most of them from Oklahoma, to 106 and they’re coming from out of state and they’re repeaters so they enjoy coming into Tulsa [and] seeing the people,” said Shavon Agee, Program Manager for the Mvskoke Art Market. “One compliment that we get is that we are very hospitable, so I think that is…something to be proud of and it’s nice that people want to come here. They have other choices; they could go somewhere else, but they choose to come to Tulsa, Oklahoma.”
Attendees had the opportunity to view and purchase amazing works such as paintings and sculptures from local artists.
