A new anime adaptation is in our future with the Mission: Yozakura Family manga getting the nod. Revealed at Jump Festa 2023, the adaptation is planned for a 2024 debut with Silver Link handling the animation production. The series saw an April 7th, 2024 premiere date and it saw a two-cour consecutive run which also has Hulu set to stream it as a “Hulu Original.”
With an April 12th, 2026, premiere date, Hulu is streaming it in the US. Now, a new update hit where this is now a split-cour show where the second part is now planned for an October 2026 debut. The first part ended its run earlier today and a new teaser was released to announce its return this fall.
Mirai Minato is directing it and handling the series composition for it. Mizuki Takahashi is serving as character designer and chief animation director with Silver Link handling the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes:
- Reiji Kawashima as Taiyo Asano
- Kaede Hondo as Mutsumi Yozakura
- Katsuyuki Konishi as Kyoichiro Yozakura
- Akari Kito as Futaba Yozakura
- Aoi Yūki as Shion Yozakura
- Kazuyuki Okitsu as Shinzō Yozakura
- Yumi Uchiyama as Nanao Yozakura
- Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Kengo Yozakura and Goliath
The new season features Sakurazaka46 performing the opening song “What’s ‘KAZOKU’?” while Pilaf Alien will perform the ending theme song “Shalala.”
The manga from Hitsuji Gondaira began in 2019 and has sixteen volumes out as of January 2023. It’s serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump with Viz Media bringing it out in English digitally and in print.

Plot Concept: High school student Taiyou Asano has been socially inept ever since his family died in a car crash. The only person he can properly interact with is his childhood friend, Mutsumi Yozakura—the head of the world’s strongest family of spies. Mutsumi’s eldest brother, Kyouichirou Yozakura, has been overprotective of her ever since he once rendered her severely injured. His love for Mutsumi is lethal, and Taiyou is his next target. To survive, Taiyou must marry Mutsumi and become a member of the Yozakura family. Thrown headfirst into chaos, Taiyou begins his journey to become a powerful spy in order to protect his wife and uncover the dark secrets of his past and the Yozakura family.
