Marvel and Lucasfilm have revealed interconnecting Pride Month covers for the publisher’s three Star Wars releases in June. The artwork, created by Rickie Yagawa (Eternals: The 500 Year War), features 18 LGBTQIA+ characters from the galaxy far far away, and will be available as variants for Star Wars: Rogue One – Jyn Erso, Shadow of Maul #4, and Galaxy’s Edge – Echoes of the Empire #3.
The characters featured (from left to right) are:
- Vildar Mac, a High Republic era Jedi introduced in Marvel’s 2022 series
Terec and Ceret, trans non-binary twins and Jedi Knights from the High Republic
Mother(s) Aniseya and Koril, the mothers of Mae and Osha on The Acolyte
Tey Sirrek, a thief, former Guardian of the Whills, and Mac’s husband
Cinta Kaz and Vel Sartha, Rebels from Andor
Sabé, Padmé Amidala’s former handmaiden and double
Doctor Aphra, archaeologist/scoundrel introduced in Marvel’s first Darth Vader series
Just Lucky, smuggler and assassin introduced in the 2020 Doctor Aphra run
Ariole Yu, Lucky’s love interest
Larma D’Acy and Wrobie Tyce, Resistance members respectively introduced in The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker
Rae Sloane, an Imperial admiral introduced in the prose novels
Losha and T’Onga, from the Marvel series Bounty Hunters
Sana Starros, Rebel, ex-girlfriend of Aphra, and alleged ex-husband of Han Solo
Yagawa says, “It was a privilege to participate in this project! One of the things I love most about [the] Star Wars galaxy is the diversity of characters found throughout its long history. This was a really cool and special experience for me.”
Jyn Erso, Shadow of Maul #4 (of 5), and Galaxy’s Edge – Echoes of the Empire #3 (of 5) will be respectively released on June 3, June 10, and June 24. Marvel will also celebrate Pride Month with the Voices special Wiccan & Hulkling: Raid of Ultron, which’ll be published beforehand on May 27.
