The graffiti Niños Perdidos I (Lost Children I), by the Spanish artist Murfin, has won third place in the Best of 2025 Street Art Awards, the annual global competition organized by Street Art Cities, a platform born in 2016 to document the best urban art in the world. The large artwork is located in the town of Fuenlabrada, near Madrid, and covers a façade on a residential building.
The Spanish capital itself was named the Number 1 World’s Best Street Art City for “its 425 street art masterpieces.” It is followed by Athens, Greece and Lisbon, Portugal. New York City ranked 10th on the list and Los Angeles was 19th.
The top spot for best mural of 2025 went the the artist KLE for a colorful graffiti in the Greek city of Kalamata depicting the late opera singer Maria Callas surrounded by birds and branches. Second prize went to Pijanista for Deep reflection, a mural located in Belgrade, Serbia.
To select the winners, hundreds of new murals created each year are analyzed, and a combination of an expert jury and the Street Art community, touted as “the largest street art community in the world,” votes for the best one.
The top prizes in the mural category for Best of 2023 and Best of 2024 went to two works in Fene, in northwestern Spain.

Each month, the jury selects 100 examples of urban art that they have found themselves or that have been suggested to them. After sharing these murals on Instagram, the number of interactions is extracted using a proprietary algorithm, calculating a score that takes into account factors such as views, votes, and engagement.
