Known originally as Jingai Kyoushitsu no Ningengirai Kyoushi – Hitoma-sensei Watashitachi ni Ningen wo Oshietekuremasu ka……?, the manga adaptation of the light novel recently ended. Translating as Misanthropic Teacher in Demi-Human Classroom with Yen Press releasing it in English, the adaptation began in 2022 as Atsu Benino adapted Natsume Kurusu’s original work in Shonen Ace. An anime adaptation was announced in September 2025 where the production has Akira Iwanaga directing it from the scripts overseen by Katsuhiko Takayama. Maiko Okada is handling the character designs, with asread handling the animation production.
Set with a January 10th, 2026, premiere date, Crunchyroll made its pickup of it with a localized name of A Misanthrope Teaches a Class for Demi-Humans.
Previously, Kadokawa has set the Japanese home video releases for the series. The thirteen-episode series will be spread across three discs with the DVDs priced at 11,000 yen, and the Blu-rays at 13,000 yen.

The Japanese cast includes Toshiki Masuda as Rei Hitoma, Sora Amamiya as Kyōka Minazuki, Saori Ōnishi as Isaki Ōgami, Maria Naganawa as Sui Usami, Rui Tanabe as Tobari Haneda, Manami Numakura as Karin Ryuzaki, Misato Fukuen as Machi Nezu, Reina Ueda as Neneko Kurosawa, Yui Ishikawa as Aoi Wakaba, Yui Horie as Maki Okonogi, Honoka Inoue as Mirai Haruna, and Kazuhiko Inoue as Shiro Karasuma.
Masayoshi Oishi will perform the opening song “Ningen,” while the main cast will perform the ending theme song in-character with “Ningen Come True.”
Benino made their debut in 2020 with a D4DJ work, and this is their second property.

Plot Concept: These girls aren’t human. Still, they adore humans more than anyone.
I am Hitoma Rei, a NEET nearing 30 years old who was traumatized by human relationships. When I changed jobs, I ended up at an all-girls school whose purpose is to take non-humans and make them human!? Spending my days with the strange students Minadzuki Kyouka, a mermaid; Oogami Isaki, a werewolf; Usami Sui, a rabbit; and Haneda Tobari, a bird…
Why do they want to be human? What do they want to do once they become human? I will teach them about humans. This may be an alternate world, but it’s not like I’ve been reincarnated. This is just the story of a teacher who spends time with some girls who wish to become human, in a slightly odd school.
