One of a number of Tatsunoko Productions that we were told some time ago that Sentai Filmworks has, the Gold Lightan the Golden Warrior anime is finally coming back to streaming. HIDIVE has set a May 26th, 2026, release for the fifty-two-episode run, and it is going live today in its original Japanese language with English subtitles on the service.
The 1981 series saw Kochi Mashimo as the chief director, working from the series composition by Akiyoshi Sakai. Ippei Kuri handled the character designs with Star Productions and Tatsunoko Productions on the animation.
The Japanese cast includes:
- Issei Futamata as Gold Lightan
- Yō Inoue as Hiroshi Taikai
- Akira Murayama as Happei Aburada
- Daisuke Gōri as Sayokka
- Kazuya Tatekabe as King Ivalda
- Minoru Inaba as Futoshi Mizuki
- Naoko Kōda as Mannakka
Plot Concept: The evil Ivalda the Great and his followers have come to invade Earth and the rest of the third dimension! The only ones standing against this terrible threat are the transforming leader of the Lightan Corps, Gold Lightan, and the courageous group of human children known as the Rambunctious Rangers!
