Heated Rivalry by Rachel Reid is the No. 1 Canadian fiction title this week, and four other titles from the Game Changers series are in the top 10.

The 2019 romance spawned the hit TV series of the same name. It tells the story of a relationship between rival professional hockey players Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov. Hollander is a Canadian who plays for the fictional Montreal Voyageurs while the Russian Rozanov plays for the Boston Bears. 

They’re both at the top of their game but their secret romance, once casual, is starting to feel like something more. As the two become even closer, they are forced to choose between their love of the game and their love of each other. 

The series adaptation, directed by Montreal filmmaker Jacob Tierney, debuted in November on Crave, and is its most successful original series to date — appealing to a wide range of viewers. Heated Rivalry was also on the Canada Reads 2026 longlist.

The Wealthy Barber by David Chilton is the No. 1 Canadian nonfiction book this week.

Like the original published in 1989, the revised version of The Wealthy Barber uses humour and experience to convey a wealth of knowledge about managing personal finances. The updated book includes new financial tools for Canadians, such as TFSAs, FHSAs and ETFs. Chilton, an Ontario investor, is also known as a former “Dragon” on CBC’s Dragons’ Den.

In the graphic novel PAWS: The Trouble with Leo, business is booming for the dog-walking girls of PAWS. But when Gabby’s arch-nemesis, Leo, starts a rival group of dog walkers, a turf war also begins. As things escalate and the battle for position continues, the two groups realize that they may have more in common than they initially thought.
