Last year, things drew to a close soon for the Kirio Fan Club manga as it was revealed that the upcoming sixth volume, due out on September 19th, 2024, would be the final volume. The property comes from creator Chiyuu no Osakana Ponchan and began in 2022 in Comic Ruelle for Jitsugyou no Nihonsha. We learned at the time that there would be both a live-action series and anime adaptation as well, with the live-action series moving a lot faster, though Kodansha Comics announced an English-language pickup of the manga for a spring 2026 release.
Making an April 2nd, 2026, premiere date, HIDIVE previously announced its pickup for the property. With the series underway, the production has now revealed two more cast members with Fumihiko Tachiki as Aimi’s grandfather and Mamiko Noto as Nozomi.

The series has So Toyama directing it from the scripts written and overseen by Aya Satsuki. Nami Hayashi is handling the character designs with SATELIGHT on the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes:
- Nene Hieda as Aimi Miyoshi
- Shion Wakayama as Nami Sometani
- Gakuto Kajiwara as Ken Kirio
- Yūya Hirose as Mitsuru Manda
- Jin Ogasawara as Hayato Momose
- Ayasa Itō as Satsuki Muraoka
- Fūka Izumi as Seira Tashiro
The series features the opening sequence by Skirt and ODD Foot Works performing “FANCLUB”, while the ending sequence features Ako performing “Harmony.”
Chikyuu no Osakana Ponchan made their debut in 2016 with Danshi Koukousei to Fureau Houhou and has had four other titles since then before starting Kirio Fanclub.

Plot Concept: Aimi and Nami don’t have much in common, with one glaring exception: Kirio, the boy they both have a crush on! The battle to prove who loves him more has begun, leading to such deep philosophical questions as, “Would you still love him if he had farts that broke the sound barrier?” and the classic “Would you still love him if he was a worm?” But as the girls’ friendship deepens, they find themselves wondering if their shot at love is as important as their hilarious and heartwarming friendship.
