A new manga series launched last fall in Japan with the announcement of The Hopeless Two. Known originally as Ikenai Futari (いけない二人), the project comes from creator Kazusa Inaoka and made its debut in the 19/2025 installment of Big Comic Original that arrived on September 20th, 2025. Now, the first compiled volume is set for an April 30th, 2026, debut in Japan, and the finalized cover artwork is below.
Inaoka made their debut in 2018 with Kimi wo Shinryakuseyo and have six titles to their name so far.
Big Comic Original is a Japanese seinen manga magazine published by Shogakukan, aimed at an older adult and mostly male audience. It is a sister magazine to Big Comic.
Plot Concept: When they were children, Keisuke Naito and Megumi Ikehata promised to get married if they were still single at 30. Now 29 years old, they have completely lost interest in that promise, and due to unavoidable circumstances, they start living together!
