Fence fans, are you listening? The BOOM! Studios young adult imprint BOOM! Box is re-releasing the Fence series in three deluxe volumes starting this fall, and today, The Beat can reveal a first look at Fence Book One.
Written by C.S. Pacat and illustrated by Johanna the Mad, with colors by Joana Lafuente and letters by Jim Campbell, Fence Book One collects issues #1-12 of the original series, which debuted in 2017 and has since spawned two sequels (Fence: Redemption and Fence: Breakthrough).
Fence follows Nicholas Cox, a naturally talented but untrained fencer who desperately wants to follow in the steps of his father, renowned fencer Robert Coste, despite having never met the man. When he’s accepted into an elite private school on a fencing scholarship, he has to prove his merit by making the team—and maintaing his cool when he’s forced to room with his rival, Seiji Katayama.
