EXO-6, a premier Star Trek sixth-scale collectible maker, has revealed a new 1/6 scale mixed-media statue of the fan-favorite nonbinary villain Captain Angel, portrayed by the franchise’s first out trans actress Jesse James Keitel (Queer As Folk), from the Strange New Worlds episode “The Serene Squall,” directed by trans filmmaker Sydney Freeland (Reservation Dogs). The Captain Angel statue is now available for pre-order at $225.
Keitel herself commented on the release of the statute, saying, “SUP, NERDS! I’M A COLLECTIBLE! Captain Angel D̶O̶L̶L̶ museum grade figurine featuring costume design by @berncroft and makeup by @andreaheldman now available for pre-order ☠️ @exo6_collectibles @startrek #strangenewworlds.”
Captain Angel made their Star Trek debut in SNW’s “The Serene Squall,” infiltrating the Enterprise under the guise of Starfleet scientist Dr. Aspen before revealing their true identity as a charming, calculating pirate captain. In a bit of franchise lore, Angel is the person responsible for drawing Spock’s emotional brother Sybok back into the Star Trek universe. As a non-binary villain with genuine menace and charisma to spare, the character marked a meaningful moment for queer representation in the franchise: proof that trans and non-binary characters can be complicated, morally grey, and utterly compelling.
Captain Angel action figure
Unlike EXO-6’s articulated action figure, the Captain Angel piece is a non-articulated release statue — a first for the line — capturing the character mid-Vulcan-salute in what the company describes as a pose radiating “defiant style and pirate flair.” Standing 28 cm tall, the figure boasts an exceptionally precise likeness of Keitel, down to the character’s distinctive facial features, earrings, and face markings.
Costume authenticity was clearly a priority: EXO-6 collaborated directly with Strange New Worlds costume designer Bernadette Croft to ensure the outfit is screen-accurate in every detail, from fabric textures and tailoring to overall silhouette.
The Captain Angel statue is available for pre-order now at exo-6.com for $225, with a preorder deposit of $20.
