Dragon Ball Super is finally coming back with a new anime, and one Naruto actor wants in on the fun.
Neil Kaplan, the English anime voice actor behind such roles as Madara Uchiha from Naruto: Shippuden, Theo Magath from Attack on Titan, and Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto from Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, announced his desire to play Moro, the new planet-eating antagonist in Dragon Ball Super: Galactic Patrol.
Kaplan revealed his interest in playing Moro by replying to a thread on X (formerly Twitter), where Dragon Ball fans were speculating who could do the role justice in English and Japanese. When one fan suggested Kaplan for Moro, the English voice actor responded with, “If this is what you think… write them a letter and drop it in the mail.”

On X, Kaplan explained why writing a letter of support was more effective than simplying @-ing a company on social media. “Respectfully, posting to a company on social media is much easier to ignore than people who take the time and effort to look up the company to write to, along with their address, write a polite letter, then actually mail that letter to them.”
He also gave a cheeky response to a respectful reply who wanted to see Moro played by a much older actor on par with Erik Lehnsherr as Magneto in the X-Men films. “Would it help if I previously voiced Magneto?”
Kaplan is referring to his role as Magneto in Marvel Disk Wars: The Avengers, a Pokémon-esque action anime produced by Toei Animation and The Walt Disney Company Japan.
Of course, it’s far too early to tell who will play Moro in Japanese, let alone English. Although very little was said about Dragon Ball Super: Galactic Patrol‘s production at Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri where — outside of the fact that the fan-favorite manga story arc is finally getting an anime adaptation — there’s been strong speculation online that the new Dragon Ball anime will most likely arrive in late 2027 or early 2028.
In the meantime, the upcoming Dragon Ball Super anime remake scheduled for the fall 2026 season will keep fans preoccupied until Moro finally makes his long-awaited anime debut. Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is a remastered version of the original Dragon Ball Super storyline that will not only feature updated animation, but also new original scenes lifted from the Dragon Ball Super manga.
Previous chapters of the Dragon Ball Super manga by the late Akira Toriyama and co-creator and artist Toyotarou can be read digitally on the Viz Media and Manga Plus apps. The manga remains on hiatus with no return date for Chapter 105.
