The Russo Brothers have revealed their cryptic color teaser is actually a first look at a logo for Doctor Doom, and fans think it means an Avengers: Doomsday trailer could arrive as soon as this week.
Joe and Anthony Russo, the directing duo behind this year’s Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) team-up movie, first sent heads spinning after they posted an image featuring only the color green Friday. Giving fans so little to go on had sleuths online trying to tie the exact RGB color codes to potential dates or even times tied to Avengers: Endgame, but now, we know the image was actually a zoomed-in version of the symbol for the fictional country of Latveria (below).
While some were quick to guess the logo’s pointy design could be a reference to Loki, others pointed out that the logo has been used many, many times as the symbol for part of the world ruled by Victor von Doom. It’s appeared not only as the symbol for Latveria but as a logo for Doctor Doom himself.
With a separate post reminding fans of the Russo Brothers’ presence at this week’s SXSW London event, it’d be reasonable to assume an Avengers: Doomsday trailer – or at least some news – could be shared by the Marvel team as soon as tomorrow. Others, however, are sticking to a previous theory tied to this Latveria logo’s color.
A few fans have determined that its specific hex code is #71826a, potentially suggesting some sort of announcement could arrive July 18, 2026. Although the date seems to hold little significance on its own, it does happen to be a few days before Marvel Studios shows up for San Diego Comic-Con 2026.
Really, the theories surrounding the release of an Avengers: Doomsday trailer mostly serve as proof that some fans are so starved for updates that they’ll look to any teaser to find a crumb of information. The MCU movie is due for some sort of news, and with its release date still set for December 18, 2026, it hopefully won’t be too much longer before an official trailer rears its head.
