The good news keeps coming for Scrubs fans. With the first season of the Scrubs revival debuting to strong reviews and high viewership numbers, ABC has opted to renew the series for another season as part of the network’s 2026-2027 TV lineup.
The news comes from THR, which reports that Scrubs was ABC’s most-watched comedy among adults 18-49 this season. According to Nielsen and Disney, the series drew in a total of 11.36 million views in its first five days across ABC, Hulu, Hulu on Disney+ and digital platforms.

Word of the Scrubs revival originally broke in May 2025, and Season 10 debuted on ABC and Hulu in February 2026. It remains to be seen when exactly Season 11 will premiere.
This is another feather in the cap for Scrubs creator/executive producer Bill Lawrence, whose current lineup of TV and streaming comedies includes Apple TV+’s Shrinking and Ted Lasso and HBO’s Rooster (check out IGN’s review of Rooster Episodes 1-6). Rooster was also recently renewed for a second season, with star John C. McGinley warning fans “everyone is expendable.”
IGN’s Jesse Schedeen was pleased with the Scrubs revival in its first four episodes, writing, “Scrubs had a good, long run in the early ‘00s, but it’s clear there’s still more room on that runway. The series hardly misses a beat as it makes its long-overdue return to ABC. As before, the series is carried by the incredible, childlike chemistry of its leads and that ever-charming blend of goofy sitcom antics and darker medical drama. That’s not to say there aren’t some issues in the first four episodes of Season 10. The series has its work cut out for it when it comes to establishing the new cast of characters alongside the old. But compared to the misguided mess that was Season 9, the revival is a welcome return to form for a fan-favorite series.”
