Technically, Vertigo was back last week, with Nice House on the Lake #7, but this week marks the first new series launch for Re-Vertigo and I’m pleased to report it lands on my list of Top Comics to Buy for February 11. And while that book is the headliner for me, the rest of the week is rock solid, too.

I’ve got my five favorites below (it was a tough week to narrow it down), along with 10 others I liked, plus the usual new #1 and graphic novel release lists…enjoy!

Top Comics to Buy for February 11, 2026

    Bleeding Hearts #1
    Writer: Deniz Camp
    Artist: Stipan Morian
    Colorist: Matt Hollingsworth
    Letterer: Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou
    Publisher: DC Comics – Vertigo
The zombies won — and ten years after the fall of humanity, they’re the dominant form of life (or not-life) on Earth. They’ve developed their own cultural practices, their own language, their own society. Mouse-Pokes-Golf-Ball-Through-Hole-In-Head (“Poke” for short) is a beloved member of his community, and with his brother-in-arm Mush, he’s happy to shamble along through the only world he can remember… until the day his heart mysteriously starts beating again. And in a blink, the first humans he sees have stopped looking like food and have started looking like… friends… ?
    Why It’s Cool:
This is the first new title launched by the revitalized Vertigo (which I’m calling Re-Vertigo), and, like many of the other forthcoming books, it is from an established creative team that has already made a critically-acclaimed original comic together, this being 20th Century Men. This new book is a zombie apocalypse from the POV of the zombie, and it’s off to a great start with this first issue.
    Price:
    $4.99

The Crown: A Tale of Hell #1
Story By: Mike Mignola and Todd Mignola
    Art/Color: Warwick Johnson-Cadwell
    Letterer: Clem Robins
    Publisher: Dark Horse Comics
Deep within Castle Azzael, a new crown is being forged in secret for a potential king — sparking treachery and backstabbing among Hellboy’s father, uncle, and half-brothers, each vying for control of Satan’s dormant throne.
    Why It’s Cool:
This is a Hellboy story about Hellboy’s brothers, and it’s being co-written by Mike Mignola and his brother, Todd. It’s also got art by Warwick Johnson-Cadwell. All the artists who work on Hellboy comics are great, but Johnson-Cadwell is among my favorites, and he really gets to deliver some great visuals in this story, which is set in hell.
    Price:
    $4.99

    Cyclops #1
    Writer: Alex Paknadel
    Artist: Roge Antonio
    Colorist: Fer Sifuentes-Sujo
    Letterer: Joe Caramagna
    Publisher: Marvel Comics
Scott Summers is a mutant who is always in near-total control of his powers and his emotions. But what happens when he’s separated from the X-Men, lost in a mountain wilderness without the visor that keeps his devastating powers in check? And will he be able to stay alive when Donald Pierce and his cyborgs, the Reavers, are hunting him? It’s a tale of the X-Men’s leader at his most savage core!
    Why It’s Cool:
Because it feels like the ideal of a great X-Men comic, one that uses the great characters and complex continuity as a jumping off point for a new story. This book looks great and reads fast, and it’s easily accessible for someone like me, who has fallen off the post-Krakoa X-Men series. I dug it, even without the full context of what’s happening with the X-Men right now.
    Price:
    $4.99

    The Jungle #3
    Writer: Keenan Marshall Keller
    Artist: Tom Neely
    Publisher: Uncivilized Comics
While Johnny recovers from last issue’s beating, we get a glimpse of the world beyond The JUNGLE’s walls, in this Queenie-centric issue! A slice of life in mid-70’s L.A. as Queenie struggles with family issues and her shitty job while trying to devise a plan to help BUST The HUMANS out of The JUNGLE!! Plus a LETTER FROM DOC and KARNS from sun-soaked Florida!!
Why It’s Cool: This new over-sized incarnation of The Jungle (known previously as The Humans, during it’s excellent 2010s Image Comics run) has been fantastic. Keller and Neely are a great team who have picked up right where they left off. This third issue sees a shifted POV to follow Queenie in 1970s LA, and it’s a lot of fun. I just can’t stress this enough — The Jungle is a must-read comic, with its continuing what if Hells Angels were apes concept and its awesome art.
    Price: $8.00

    Terrorbytes #5
    Writer: Mark Russell
    Artist: David Ferracci
    Colorist: Guy Major
    Letterer: Carlos M. Mangual
    Publisher: Mad Cave Studios
An off-world laboratory, built to conduct the most dangerous experiments possible, mysteriously returns to Earth, creating panic.
    Why It’s Cool:
This series — which is being alternately scripted by Mark Russell and Mark London — has emerged as one of my favorites from Mad Cave, which is really saying a lot because I’ve been digging their books of late. It’s a set of great self-contained sci-fi cautionary stories with an over-arching narrative running around its edges. It’s just really well done, and this fifth issue is a highlight so far, with a really heartfelt story at its center.
    Price:
    $4.99
