    Intro!

Top Comics to Buy for February 4, 2026

The Autumn Kingdom: The Wraithbound Queen #1
    Writer: Cullen Bunn
    Artist: Christopher Mitten
    Colorist: Francesco Segala
    Letterer: Taylor Esposito
    Publisher: Oni Press
Kidnapped by the fae, sisters Sommer and Winter’s parents have disappeared behind the veiled walls of the Autumn Kingdom — mythical borderlands that their fantasy author father once thought were total fiction. Now, with the human world far behind them, their final conquest — and their father’s freedom — stands before them… behind a legion of goblins, trolls, and corrupted human souls…
    Why It’s Cool:
I thought the last arc of The Autumn Kingdom went a bit underappreciated, doling out as it did near-perfect portal fantasy with interesting family drama layered in. This new arc picks up right where the last left off, and it’s secret weapon remains the phenomenal art by Christopher Mitten and Francesco Segala.
    Price: $4.99

    Batman #6
    Writer: Matt Fraction
    Artist: Jorge Jimenez
    Colorist: Tomeu Morey
    Letterer: Clayton Cowles
    Publisher: DC Comics
After he survives the date night from hell, the long night isn’t over for Bruce Wayne. While he juggles multiple needs as Bruce, Hugo Strange’s Monster Men attack a petrochemical facility and force Batman into action. Gotham City becomes a powder keg as superstars Matt Fraction and Jorge Jiménez continue their acclaimed run on the Caped Crusader.
    Why It’s Cool:
Every week this book comes out, I strongly consider including it in my top five, and this week I’m pulling the trigger. This Batman run has been so fun and lowkey very eventful. It’s probably being overshadowed by the powerhouse that is Absolute Batman (what isn’t?), but I think it’s a great compliment to that book, a gadget-heavy more traditional run set within the standard DC Universe. It’s a must-read for me.
    Price:
    $4.99

    High Strangeness #4
    Story: Daniel Noah
Writers: Cecil Castelluci and Daniel Noah
    Artist: Chloe Stawski
    Colorist: Francesco Segala
    Letterer: Becca Carey
    Publisher: Oni Press
Adeline is a lonely, lost aspiring artist. Raised in foster care and languishing in the cruelty and ignorance of turn-of-the-millenium America, her life is without direction or higher purpose. But when she’s recruited by a mysterious program that seeks to study her latent telepathic abilities inside a deep-underground military base, she starts down a path she was maybe always traveling… a path that reaches a major crossroads when she meets the ethereal Lyriana and finds her long-lost spiritual connection in the process. But when Lyriana suddenly disappears, Adeline must question the true nature of her new masters… and test the limits of her abilities to see if love truly is eternal.
    Why It’s Cool:
These stand-alone High Strangeness comics have been uniformly excellent, and this week’s burst of diverging world 2K sci-fi is no exception. The art by Chloe Stawski is just wonderful. Even if you haven’t read the other entries in this series, I’d strongly recommend grabbing this one this week.
    Price:
    $7.99

    Love Ignited 2026 #1
Writers: Olivia Dufault, Sugar May, Rosa Ekedal, Jamie S. Rich, Chris Burnham, Patrick Horvath
Artists: Dani, Sugar May, Rosa Ekedal, Belen Culebras, Chris Burnham, Morgan Beem
Colorists: Brad Simpson, Kendall Goode, Allen Passalaqua
    Letterers: AndWorld Design, Pat Brosseau
    Publisher: Ignition Press
Ignition Press debuts its first anthology, and it’s an oversized hunk ‘o burning love spanning from the depths of the ocean to the far reaches of space! Emotions run hot in romance, and some people go to extremes for the person — or creature — they desire.
    Why It’s Cool:
If there’s two things I’m loving in this year’s young comics market, it’s the glut of horror anthologies and the new line from Ignition Press. This book sort of combines them both, sort of because it’s nominally a romance anthology, but there’s plenty of horror layered in as well. And it’s just a great set of stories. For me right now, everything from Ignition Press is a must-read, and this anthology is no exception.
    Price:
    $7.99

    Twilight Zone #4
    Cartoonist: Nate Powell
    Publisher: IDW Publishing
When Laura takes her abrasive brother, Chet, on a birthday vacation, their relationship is already wobbling on its last leg. A loving sister and her devoted boyfriend will try-desperately and one final time to salvage a relationship with a once-loving little brother now grown to be a hateful young man. But when all three are plunged into worlds of their deepest desires, will they even want to find each other once again?
    Why It’s Cool:
The new Twilight Zone series is one of the best things happening in direct market comics, collecting some of the most interesting working cartoonist and setting them loose on their own stand-alone Twilight Zone episodes, in comics. This month’s by Nate Powell looks at a pair siblings on vacation together, having drifted apart in their lives, with the brother character essentially lost to the man-o-sphere. It’s great material for a story, and Powell does really interesting things with it.
    Price: $4.99
