International Sailor Moon fans will have to go hunting if they want to get hold of the last pieces from a beloved merchandise collection.
As noted by franchise news and fan account Sailor Moon News on Twitter, fan-favorite makeup brand ColourPop has officially discontinued their Series 1 and 2 Sailor Moon collections. Fortunately, fans willing to go searching may be able to find discounted items from the collections at retail outlets such as TJ Maxx or Marshall’s.
International Sailor Moon Collectors Farewell Iconic ColourPop Cosmetics Series
Founded in 2014 by Laura and John Nelson, ColourPop Cosmetics offers consumers a whole host of cruelty-free products that are known for both their quality and affordability. Apart from the main ColourPop lines of products, the company also maintains skincare brand Fourth Ray Beauty and body makeup brand Sol Body. The company has received numerous major industry awards over the years, and has collaborated with brands ranging from Disney to Sanrio to BTS.
With the cancellation of the Series 1 and 2 Sailor Moon products, ColourPop fans will have to hide away what they still have, assuming they can’t hunt down more at bargain prices. So far, over 15 individual products and sets have been spotted at discount outlets, including the Sailor Guardian x ColourPop Full Collection set from 2023 and the Sailor Moon x ColourPop Full OG Collection set from 2020.
The ColourPop Cosmetics lines are just two of dozens if not hundreds of similar collaborations that the Sailor Moon franchise has enjoyed since it first burst onto the scene with Naoko Takeuchi’s original manga back in 1991. Since then, numerous cosmetics companies and brands have launched their own Sailor Moon inspired product lines — although those that release in the U.S. are comparitively far rarer.
Perhaps the best known of any Sailor Moon cosmetics line is Miracle Romance, produced by the Japanese cosmetics brand Creer Beaute. A subsidiary of Bandai, Creer Beaute produces multiple lines of cosmetics products inspired by various pop culture staples, with Sailor Moon standing as the most prominent of the bunch.
In November 2025, it was announced that Miracle Romance had revealed its Miracle Romance Shining Moon Powder 2026 Limited Edition compact — the latest in a line of similar annual releases that have become some of the most highly anticipated by fans. The Miracle Romance Shining Moon Powder 2026 Limited Edition compact comes packed with a clear coat powder that sits seamlessly on any skin tone.
More importantly, it offers consumers a nearly pitch-perfect recreation of Usagi’s transformation brooch from the classic Sailor Moon anime. While the makeup itself is sure to be a solid addition to any kit, the broach-style compact is already a collector’s item in and of itself.
