Australian street artist Sofles will headline the Southend City Jam, bringing his signature style to the streets of the city for the fifth edition of the festival.
Known for his intricate lettering, bold use of colour, and large-scale murals, Sofles has built an international reputation through his artwork, video projects, and collaborations.
Matt Dent, councillor responsible for business, culture, music and tourism welcomed Sofles to the line-up of artists.
He said: “We’re really thrilled to welcome Sofles to Southend City Jam.

“He’s a huge name in street art, and having him here says a lot about how far the festival has come.
“His work will inspire residents and visitors alike, and it’s another great opportunity to showcase Southend as a vibrant, creative city.
“City Jam continues to bring colour, culture and community spirit to our streets.”
Taking place from Friday, August 28 to Sunday, August 30, Southend City Jam will once again transform Southend’s city centre and seafront into an open-air gallery.

Now widely regarded as one of the largest street art festivals in Europe, City Jam attracts top international artists alongside emerging talent from the UK and beyond.
The event not only celebrates creativity and cultural expression but also draws visitors from across the country, boosting Southend’s profile as a cultural destination.
In 2025, more than 250 artists turned dozens of walls, buildings and specially constructed boards into canvases of colour.
Organisers believe Sofles’ participation marks a new milestone for the festival and further raises its international standing.
