The once-premier digital art platform, Adobe Creative Cloud, is again under fire for price increases related to their generative AI models. In late 2025, Adobe announced that the pricing for individual plans would be increasing, including in their educational plans, in favor of plans with increased integration of their Firefly AI model. Not only have rates increased for the program, but Adobe has also quietly injected AI generated content into users’ files.
With this price increase, the Creative Cloud All Apps individual user plan was renamed Creative Cloud Pro and included a variety of gen AI features as the reasoning behind the price increase. This new plan includes unlimited access to generative fill features, generative credits for premium video and audio generation features including Image to video, a mood-boarding tool found in their Firefly app, and finally the ability to use non-Adobe AI models directly in Firefly. This change in the Creative Cloud All Apps subscription increased monthly charges from $59.99 to $69.99. In the fine print in the Adobe Help forums, however, Adobe also announced a new Creative Cloud Standard plan without the Gen AI features found in the Pro level plan. This Standard plan bills at $54.99 a month making it cheaper than the original All Apps plan and includes the same features. With these changes, it’s clear the company wants to push users into AI-laden plans. Adobe has even gone as far as quietly injecting AI generated content into user’s personal files.
Evil Hat Productions, a TTRPG and board game company, announced on Bluesky that the latest PDF files for their Umdaar game had injected autogenerated AI alt text, without warning. Other users are reporting that not only does alt text generate for undefined images, it also overwrites previously existing alt text. Forced AI usage, coupled with yet another price increase, has incited another wave of outrage towards Adobe. Users took to social media expressing their displeasure at the company’s shady implementation of AI features, including a statement from Evil Hat themselves.

As Adobe continues to prioritize Gen AI and raise their rates, many creators are seeking out free or one-time-purchase platforms, such as Krita or Clip Studio, to continue their work. Subscriptions are becoming the preferred method for companies to offer their services as a way to keep customers coming back but resentment is growing among consumers. As Adobe continues to quietly integrate generative AI without allowing users an easy method to opt out, they could find themselves quickly losing users.
