Undying Love: Not Dead Yet standard cover
§ Via IGN, Tomm Coker and Daniel Freedman revealed they are crowdfunding a black-and-white, hardcover edition of their series Undying Love, and a four-issue continuation to wrap up the series. The first four issues of the comic, originally published by Image in 2011, told the story of an ex-soldier who falls in love with a vampire from Hong Kong, and sets about lifting her curse. At the time of writing, the Kickstarter has raised over $14,000 of its $25,000 goal.
§ In comiXology news, Ablaze announced (via Collider) they will release a print edition of Thomas Jane, David James Kelly et al.’s horror series The Lycan this fall. Issues #1-3 will arrive in September, October, and November, and the trade paperback will be released in February. Meanwhile, Mad Cave will release Sergio Rossi and Giovanni Scarduelli‘s biography Nikola Tesla in paperback on August 11.
§ Papercutz announced Three Bee Honey, a middle-grade graphic novel by writer Desi St. Amant, and artist Jon St. Amant. Due out October 20, the book follows Claire, a worker bee who must contend with her hive not having enough food for the winter; training her sisters; rival drones, predators, and the Queen’s bossy deputy. It marks the first book by the St. Amants, a husband-and-wife creative team who raised money for the project on Crowdfundr.
§ DC released a third and final trailer for Supergirl, to mark tickets going on sale ahead of its release on June 26. The trailer includes more of David Corenswet as Superman, including a flashback to Kara and Krypto’s arrival on Earth.
§ Warner Bros. announced LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will be released on the Nintendo Switch 2 on Friday, September 18 (the day before Batman Day). September 18 will also see the release of the Mayhem Collection DLC, which will add the Joker and Harley Quinn as playable characters, a new story mission, a new skin each for Batman, Catwoman etc., and more. The game is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
§ In more video game news, Blizzard released an Overwatch motion comic for Pride Month, The Deep-Sea Deception. Written by Ben Kahn, with art by Xanthe Bouma, and narrated by Venture voice actor Valeria Rodriguez, the comic follows their character as they go deep sea treasure-hunting in the Atlantic with Lifeweaver, and his assistant Dr. Palak Nathani (who is a new addition to the franchise). § Finally, Syfy Wire shares Tim Disney is making his comics debut with co-writer JC Lacek (Jazz Legend) and artist Vincent Jolas Dubourg (Sundae Times) on satirical graphic novel The A.R.C. The book, which will be launched by Gungnir at San Diego Comic-Con, follows a group of billionaires on a cruise, when a virus activated by lying breaks out. Disney is the son of Walt Disney‘s nephew Roy E. Disney, and a veteran of Disney Animation, whose previous credits include Oliver & Company, and American Violet.
