Back in 2019, the folks at Seven Seas Entertainment announced a new acquisition with the pickup in digital and print for the Skeleton Knight in Another World light novels and manga by Ennki Hakari, KeG, and Akira Sawano. With an April 7th, 2022, debut on the main broadcast networks and Crunchyroll streaming it, the streamer saw an April 28th, 2022, debut of the English dub for it.
With it being almost two years since the show got underway, we learned in December 2024 that a second season was on the way. With a July 2026 premiere date set previously, Crunchyroll recently confirmed its pickup of the series for the season, where it’ll be available to viewers in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, and India.
With July just around the corner, the production has now confirmed its locked-in debut plans. The series is going to get an early release on July 4th, 2026, with the first regular episode on July 6th, 2026. Episodes will go weekly from then on on Mondays. Check out the TV spot via Twitter as well.

The project has set Katsumi Ono to direct it based on the series composition by Takeshi Kikuchi. Toru Imanishi is on board for the character designs with Studio KAI and HORNETS handling the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes Tomoaki Maeno as Arc, Fairouz Ai as Ariana, Nene Hieda as Ponta, Miyu Tomita as Chiyome, Takuya Eguchi as Danka, Kousuke Toriumi as Dillan, Yuko Minaguchi as Glenys, Rumi Okubo as Eevin, Ryota Takeuchi as Goemon, Kengo Kawanishi as Sekt, Daiki Hamano as Dakares, Saori Ōnishi as Yuriarna, Akira Ishida as Domitianus, and Minoru Shiraishi as Cetrion.
Second season cast additions include Toshihiko Seki as Villiers Fim, Kensho Ono as Sasuke, Hitomi Ueda as Tsubone, Junichi Suwabe as Thanatos, Kenji Akabane as Palurumo, and Go Shinomiya as Bartod.
The series features the opening song “Aa Waga Roman no Michi Yo” by PelleK while the ending theme song is “Bokura ga Oroka da Nante Dare ga Itta” by Dialogue+.

Plot Concept: When Arc wakes up, he discovers that he has been transported to another world in the body of the character he was playing in an MMO. Looking like a suit of armor on the outside and a skeleton on the inside, he is the Skeleton Knight. If his identity is discovered, he could be mistaken for a monster and become a target! Arc decides to spend his time as a mercenary so as not to attract attention to himself. However, he’s not the kind of man who can stand idly by when he witnesses evil acts take place right before his eyes! This isekai fantasy series about the Skeleton Knight’s unintentional quest to make the world a better place has arrived!!
