Things recently wrapped up for this series with The Blood Blooms in the Barrens ending in the 5/2026 installment of Young King Ours, and it’s getting the cover as well. Known originally as Dobaku no Hana (土漠の花), it comes from writer Ryoe Tsukimura and artist Ikumi Fukuda. It began in 2021 in the magazine and has five volumes so far, with the sixth and final scheduled for a May 29th, 2026, release.
With that release out today, we have a look at the final cover below.
Tsukimura made their debut in 1999 with Runner and have five works to their name, while Fukuda made their debut in 2013 with Shin Megami Tensei IV – Demonic Gene and have seven works to their name.
Young King OURs is a monthly manga magazine published in Japan by Shōnen Gahōsha, aimed primarily at male audiences, mostly older teens and young adults. It is the sister publication of Young King.
Plot Concept: In Djibouti, Tomonaga and the other members of the Self-Defense Force are on their way to rescue a helicopter in distress when they are unexpectedly caught up in a war between warrior clans and attacked. After a sudden firefight, they take refuge in a cave, but… Survival entertainment for men living in extreme conditions.
