The Galaxy Express Milky☆Subway anime is getting a home video release handled by Bandai Namco, and they’ve set a pretty basic plan for the theatrical re-edit project. The property is being done as a single limited edition Blu-ray release that arrives on October 28th, 2026. It’ll be priced at 7,500 yen with standard extras such as the trailers and commercials as well as the special produced prior to its theatrical release. The extras clock in at twenty-five minutes.
The set comes with toggleable English subtitles with Japanese audio.
The 2026 ONA series was written and directed by Yohei Kameyama, who also handled the character designs for it. Titan Industries handled the production for it.
The Japanese cast includes Anna Nagase as Makina, Momoka Terasawa as Chiharu, Hisako Kanemoto as Akane, Kōki Uchiyama as Kurt, Makoto Koichi as Kanata, Mikako Komatsu as Ryōko, Yoshitaka Yamaya as Max, and Yukari Tamura as Minami Minase.
Plot Concept: Chiharu, a cyborg, and Chiharu the cyborg, are arrested for violating the Galactic Road Traffic Act. At the same time, the police also arrest two other eccentric duos: Akane and Kanata, two cyborgs, Kurt and Max. Police officer Ryoko then gathers them all together and assigns them a volunteer task: cleaning the interplanetary train known as the “Milky☆Subway.” What should have been a simple mission soon becomes embroiled in a major incident! © Kameyama Yohei / Titan Industries
