A new manga series launched earlier this year with the announcement of Kishimojin (キシモジン). The new project made its debut with the January 19th, 2026, installment of Weekly Big Comic Spirits magazine and comes from creator Shu Asagiri. Check out the visual to the right.
The first compiled volume landed in Japan earlier today, and with an updated premise below, we have the final cover artwork as well.
Asagiri made their debut in 2024 with Hito Seijin and have two works to their name so far.
Big Comic Superior is a semimonthly seinen manga magazine published since July 1, 1987, by Shogakukan in Japan. Its target audience is somewhere between the audience for Big Comic Original and Big Comic Spirits.
Plot Concept: Haven’t you all had your complaints listened to on “ChatGPT4.0”? Have you ever found solace in the loneliness of “AI Rinna”?
In the future, how will we humans be able to determine that the person we are talking to is also a human being? Conversely, how can we continue to believe in ourselves as human beings and find value in our daily lives and work?
The smartphone-native generation has reached adulthood, and children are naturally forming their identities through online interactions. In this modern age, where our physicality is forgotten and the foundation of our self is becoming increasingly fragile, this work is a story of a girl’s struggle as she bravely confronts her origins, falls into despair, yet still tries to live on, and it may also be a call to action for all of you living in the modern age.
This is not a warning about the future. It is a real-life human drama happening right now, a story of celebration for the present.
