Now in their third and fourth consecutive years, the 2000 AD and Treasury of British Comics annuals contain a potent mix of vintage and brand new material, giving fans a bonus thrill over the yuletide period and newcomers a well-presented taster of the wealth of material published by Rebellion. The 2000 AD Annual focuses exclusively on properties from the weekly anthology while the Treasury of British Comics Annual makes use of Rebellion’s enormous acquired archive of classic British kids comics to dig out stories not seen in decades. 2000 AD Annual 2026 (which released late 2025) was nominated in this year’s Eisner Awards, for Best Anthology.
The 2000 AD Annual 2027 will feature brand new standalone tales from series whose footprints in the anthology stretch back across decades: Judge Dredd (by Rob Williams & RM Guera), Robo-Hunter (by Garth Ennis & Chris Burnham), Fiends of the Eastern Front (by Ian Edginton & Alejandro Aragon), and a Future Shock by Mike Carroll & Kieran McKeown. Added to those will be standalone stories from more recent fan fave serials – The Out, by Dan Abnett & Mark Harrison; and cult movie continuation Hawk the Slayer, by Alec Worley & Staz Johnson.
The Treasury of British Comics Annual 2027 includes new stories for classic characters and series, with two crossover tales:
- Helmet Head & Janus Stark, by Stephen Brotherstone, David Lawrence & Laurent LeFeuvre
- Robot Archie Vs Vanessa From Venus, by David Roach & Emily Roach
Alongside:
- Black Beth, by Alec Worley & Aly Fell
- Death Wish, by Rich Prinn & Shane Connery Volk
While Rebellion have been open about the brand new material making the cut, the reprints set to appear in 2000 AD Annual 2027 and the Treasury of British Comics Annual 2027 are being kept secret. Whatever they turn out to be, they usually are a welcome bonus.
