Viz Media announced back in June 2024 that they’re taking a new manga property to the realm of print editions with Marriage Toxin. The plan was for a spring 2024 debut for the property, but it saw a January 2nd, 2024, print release. It was priced at $11.99 for the 232-page opening volume. Then, we learned back in May 2025 that there might be an anime in the works with some domain registration news, and we’ve had other teases for several months. In September 2025, the anime was formally confirmed for a 2026 debut with the main staff, cast, promo, and key visual released for it.
The show was set for an April 7th, 2026, premiere, where it’ll be a part of the recently launched Ka-Anival!! block. With that out earlier today, the production brought out a new key visual to celebrate its debut.

The show has Motonobu Hori directing it from the series composition by Kimiko Ueno. Kohei Tokuoka is handling the character designs and serving as the chief animation director at Bones Film.
The Japanese cast includes:
- Haruki Ishiya as Hikaru Gero
- Shion Wakayama as Mei Kinosaki
- Anna Nagase as Kyoko Himekawa
- Soma Saito as Genya Naruko
- Simba Tsuchiya as Piichi Nakagawa
The opening theme song is “Kill or Kiss” by Yurina Hirate and the ending theme song “Shake Na Baby” as performed by AKASKAI.
The series is originally listed in Japan as MARRIAGETOXIN and began in 2022 with Joumyaku and Mizuki Yoda. It’s serialized in Shonen Jump+ and has twelve volumes out so far with it ongoing.
