A new anime adaptation is in the works for a fairly recent manga with Kore Kaite Shine by Minoru Toyada getting the nod previously. The manga began in 2021 and has eight volumes out so far as serialized through Monthly Shonen Sunday. The series was previously set for a July 2026 debut on NTV, with Hiroaki Akagi directing and Aki Itami co-writing the scripts. Kanichi Kato is handling the character designs with production at Shinei Animation.
With a July 3rd, 2026, premiere date, the production has brought out a new promo. We previously knew that opening theme song “Isho” as performed by Tatsuya Kitani, and now this promo reveals and previews the ending theme song “Conifer” as performed by Regal Lily.
The Japanese cast includes:
- Akira Sekine as Ai Yasumi
- Inori Minase as Hikaru Sekiryū
- Kanon Fujimura as Sachi Akafuku
- Saori Hayami as Rei Teshima
- Saya Hitomi as Kokoro Fujimori
- Noriko Hidaka as Pokota
- Atsumi Tanezaki as Nana Teramura
- Yukana as Hana Kongōji
- Kikuko Inoue as Hebichika-sensei
The manga won the 16th Manga Taisho Award in 2023 and was nominated for the 70th Shogakukan Manga Award in 2024.

Plot Concept: Yasumi Ai. She’s a first-year high school student living on Izu Ōshima, an island that’s part of Tokyo prefecture. She loves to read manga, but a certain event triggered her to start thinking about “creating” manga. She begins to think about “creating” manga. What is the world that awaits her? A manga by Minoru Toyota, a manga artist who loves manga! The pain and joy of creating works of art. No expense is spared in this tale of growing up and manga adventure!
