Bloody Disgusting announced a new partnership with Storm King Productions in order to develop and launch two scripted podcasts under the banner of “John Carpenter Presents”. Bringing together two established forces in the horror space in order to expand premium storytelling into the audio fiction market, the first series “John Carpenter Presents: Something Wicked” is already available now.
John Carpenter, horror maestro and legendary director behind brilliant films such as The Thing, Prince of Darkness, They Live and Halloween, is involved as a creative supervisor and participant in the banner.

The eight-episode scripted series, created by Read W. Ridley, and produced by 12 Angry Bears, follows a young historian alongside a seasoned detective investigating paranormal crimes in New Orleans. Taking inspiration from real events, the series blends supernatural horror with investigative drama, perfect for fans of comics such as Damn Them All and Hellboy. Additionally, the creative team is currently in production on a second original “John Carpenter Presents” fiction podcast. Further details will be announced.
Storm King Productions, founded in 1991 by producer Sandy King, has been a leading voice in horror storytelling across film, comics, and audio projects. Through its publishing arm the company has released award-winning horror and science fiction titles for audiences including the Dark & Twisted and Tales for a HalloweeNight series, with upcoming titles including CATHEDRAL, John Carpenter’s first original graphic novel.

Sandy King, C.E.O of Storm King Productions, had this to say:
Storm King Productions got its start in podcasting with Roanoke Falls and it’s a form we’ve wanted to revisit. Read W. Ridley brought us a compelling story rooted in New Orleans, drawing on local talent and the genuine spooky atmosphere of bayou folklore. It’s a story that provides a grand way for our return to fiction podcasting. John and I are thrilled to partner with Cineverse to do that.
Meanwhile, Pacific Obadiah, Head of Original Programming for the Cineverse Podcast Network, stated:
At Cineverse, we believe in the power of audio storytelling, and fiction podcasts. We’re incredibly excited to bring stories like Something Wicked to our listeners across the globe. This partnership marks an exciting new chapter for our podcast network. From our success with other fiction podcasts, like “Dead Space: Deep Cover,” and “Mayfair Watchers Society,” we know horror enthusiasts are looking for thrilling and authentic storytelling, which we hope to deliver!
“John Carpenter Presents: Something Wicked” will be available on all major podcast platforms, with additional updates and announcements to follow.
