A new anime feature film was on track for a January 2026 debut with Labyrinth. Known originally as Meikyu no Shiori, it comes from director Shoji Kawamori, based on the screenplay by Taichi Hashimoto. The project has Risa Ebata on the character designs with Sanzigen on the animation production.
The film hit a limited theatrical circuit last year in a few countries and saw a January 1st, 2026, Japanese theatrical release. Eearlier this year, it saw a new pickup with GKIDS confirming that they’ve got the rights to it in North America. They’re planning a subtitled May 10th, 2026, release, and an 11th, 2026, dubbed theatrical release for it, with details to come. Check out the film page here.
Now, the Japanese home video release has been scheduled for a limited edition Blu-ray on August 26, 2026, priced at 12,000 yen. The set comes with a bonus disc that includes:

Plot Concept: Shiori is a typical high school student who dreams of online stardom, but struggles to capture attention. After an embarrassing video of her goes viral, she gets trapped in her smartphone and replaced by a charismatic alter ego. As the doppelganger charms the internet and devises a nefarious plot to replace mankind with brainrot, Shiori must partner with other online outcasts to stop her digital counterpart and reclaim her life in the real world.
